Who We Are

About the Canadian Druze Society of Ontario

Founded in 1992, the Canadian Druze Society of Ontario (CDS) is a registered charitable, not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting the social, cultural, and civic integration of individuals and families within the Druze community and the broader public.

The organization’s mandate is to strengthen community well-being by providing social services, educational programs, and cultural initiatives that promote inclusion, resilience, and belonging. Through outreach programs, family and youth services, and community events, the Canadian Druze Society of Ontario helps newcomers and established residents alike build connections, access resources, and engage actively in Canadian society.

While rooted in Druze heritage, all CDS programs are open to the public, reflecting our commitment to service, cultural understanding, and the creation of a more inclusive and compassionate Ontario.

The Canadian Druze Society of Ontario (CDS) delivers a range of programs and services designed to enhance community well-being and social inclusion. Guided by a strategic plan that prioritizes community support and cultural preservation, the CDS develops initiatives that respond to the evolving needs of its members and the broader public. One of our largest and most impactful initiatives is the Scarborough Seniors’ Wellbeing Program, which supports newcomer seniors by promoting mental health, social engagement, and community integration. This program helps reduce isolation, encourages active living, and connects participants with essential resources and supports.

In addition to seniors’ programming, the CDS offers a variety of community-based activities, including annual 5K runs to empower women, nutrition education sessions, community cooking classes, International Women’s Day events, keynote lectures, and music and cultural evenings. We also organize youth-focused initiatives such as international Druze youth conferences, seminars, and outdoor activities including hiking trips. All CDS programs are culturally relevant, intergenerational, and open to the public. Through partnerships with local organizations and agencies, the CDS ensures its programs remain accessible, sustainable, and aligned with its mission.
