The Canadian Druze Society is a community organization aimed at enhancing the fellowship within the community by promoting cultural knowledge of history and further sustain values and traditions.

In addition to providing an informative overview of our organization, culture and beliefs, we hope to foster community involvement and provide a resource to those interested in the Druze faith.
 
CDS Westside Picnic - Sunday June 3

The CDS is hosting the annual west-side picnic in Brampton on Sunday June 3rd.


It is FREE of charge. Prepare your own BBQ to your heart's content!

This event will be held at the Druze House, 898 Markham Road, Scarborough, Ontario, on Saturday May 12/ 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

Dinner will be served at 8:00 p.m.

Prices: Adult $30 if tickets are purchased by Sunday, May 5th/ 2012

$ 35 at the door

Children $10 (5- 12 years old)

Kids under 5 are free of charge

The Spring Sleepover is BACK!

The Spring Sleepover is back for our Younger Youth!

On Saturday April 7, 2012, the children are invited to spend the night at the Druze house. The night is full of fun activities, karaoke, and a late night Movie.

The fee for this special sleepover is $20. 
Children under 8 years* old $10
*Parents are required to attend children under 8


Drop off your kids on Saturday between 5.00pm and 6.00pm

Don’t forget your sleeping bag and pillow!

2012 General Election

The Canadian Druze Society of Ontario had its Annual General Meeting on Sunday February 19, 2012, where a general election for a new Board of Directors took place. The new Board met on February 26, 2012,and the responsibilities were distributed among the members as follows:

Vice President: Jalal Merhi
Treasurer: Akram Aboucharaf
Secretary: Sanaa Debaissy
Public Relations: Souheil El Halabi
Director, House Issues: Souheil El Halabi
Director, Events and Fundraising: Dunia Rawda
Director, Younger Youth & Children Activities: Mirna Bitar Zebian
Director, Web Communications, Events and Fundraising: Wassam Zahreddine
Director, Youth and Sports: Eddie Yehia
Officer at Large: Ghada Abdel Baki Abou Shaheen, Giath Hamdan, Rima Sleem, Wisam Haidar, Nadia Eid, Jinan Bou Ourm, Alia Eid and Sarah Sawah
Honorary President: Walid Al Awar

Our Plan of Work for the year 2012 will be sent out to you shortly. It is full of activities, programs and events. All such events can never succeed without the active participation of each one of you. Help us support our Society and Centre. Bring our Children & Youth to all functions and help us getting them involved.
The new Board would like to take the opportunity to thank the previous Board of Directors for a job well done last year. We look forward for their support during this coming year too.
